Where is the closest decent beach to New Orleans?

Biloxi, Mississippi would be closer to New Orleans than Gulf Shores, Pensacola, Destin and Panama City. You would have much more to do in Biloxi than just the beach. There are oodles of casinos there. The only thing in Gulf Shores is the beach.
