Why is my female danio chasing the mail danio are they mating or what?

so i want to breed my zebra danios. i put a mail and a femail in the tank. she looks like she has some eggs because she is fater. but she keeps chasing the mail around. he does not really do much to her. some times they swim side by side a inch away or swim in cercles. but it seams like he does not want to mate with her. what do i do? btw it is 7:57 so is that agood time for them to mate?
