How do i find out if the feelings are mutual between me and a guy before i spill the beans?

Me and this guy are really close and we have some history, i still like him alot bt over the years we have both dated other ppl, bt we still talk on the phne alot about whatever comes to mine its just that natural! the thing is im not entirely sure if he knows hw i still feel about him or if he feels the same way, but im beyond terrified. He does things that make me feel as if the feelings are mutual or is it just me?
